CONSTRUCTION REPORT

Orphanage Construction Halted!

Initially, we had allocated a portion of all contributions to the construction of the orphanage. However, by August 2013 it was evident that both the school and the orphanage could not be completed with the limited funds. Unfortunately, constructions had to be prioritized and the orphanage was halted.

Take a moment to consider the positive life-changing impact Gleam of Hope can have on the 24 children we will be able to take into the Orphanage. You can be a part of that change.

Gleam of Hope is a charity run solely on donations and grants, please donate freely – no amount is too small or too big for our mission.

Upon completion, the complex would have 6 bedrooms to accommodate 4 children per room, a breakfast/lunch area, a kitchen, 2 fully equipped bathrooms, an office, a nursery (first aid), a playground and a closet to be used as storage or janitor's room.

Where We Stand Today

GOH is working in tandem with several volunteers to find partners to pledge whatever resources they can to our projects. We continually apply for grants as well – however none have fallen through yet but we won’t give up.

What Remains to be done?

Though we are proud that the foundation has been built, the main building still needs to be constructed. We reported that the construction was laid after workers removed huge piles of rocks, the iron bars were installed, and as a result, the basic structure has started to appear.

The installation of several posts and walls, in addition to roofing, flooring, furnishing, plumbing, and electrical work still need to start, including rocks masonry and concrete cleanliness – for which we seek additional funds.
