 School  Construction

The going has been slow when it comes to transporting the construction materials to the site because of the unforgiving Haitian terrain and the harsh weather conditions. Despite the hindrances we haven’t lost heart and hope, and are committed to completing our School as planned, by August 2015. Take a look at the pictures to see how far the school construction has come.

These pictures reveal the children anticipation in seeing the school building completed.  As you know, we operate within the constraint of a limited budget, and we are happy with the work done so far. Nonetheless, the plan remains the same - to complete the construction by August this year. Read More...

 Well/Water Purification Project:

In these photos, the children are lined up to receive drinking water. They are served an average 2 cups of water a day; double that amount on hot summer days. To cope with this situation, we have one 5 gallon drinking bottled water delivered to us on a weekly basis.  A total of 5 gallon per month equipped with a Water Bottle Hand Pump. The pump disperses clean water when it is pressed down. Read More...

Future Plan:

  1. Water Well Project: Drilling wells in Haiti is not easy because of hilly and rocky terrain. Our initiative for this year is to partner with other organizations to build a well, so that all children and habitants of "Deuxieme Plaine" community (in Petit-Goave) will have access to more clean water. 2. Superior Filter: We envision launching a water purification program, where we would ship filters that could produce 50-60 gallons of water a day for up to a year. These filters won’t be the ultimate solution, but we believe they will be an effective, affordable and simple alternative solution to our current delivery method.

 Orphanage Construction

Below are a series of photos to help you get a feel for the for the extent of the work that had been done for the Orphanage before it had to be stalled due to a lack of funding. Over a year ago, we reported that the construction was laid after workers removed huge piles of rocks, the iron bars were installed; and as a result, the basic structure has started to appear. However, despite our massive and best efforts of volunteers to raise the funds, the construction came to a stall.  Read More...

Let us assure you that this is not a sign of failure. Since then, we have shifted our attention and funding toward completing the school. We have not given up, and we expect the orphanage construction to resume in the near future. Upon completion, the complex  will have 6 bedrooms to accommodate 4 children per room, a breakfast/lunch area, a kitchen, 2 fully equipped bathrooms, an office, a nursery (first aid), a playground and a closet to be used as storage or janitor's room.  We are proud that the foundation has been built, the main building still needs to be constructed.
