Visitors and Volunteers

Earlier this year, Documentary Photographer Adriana Reyes, and Graduate student Prasenjit Adhikary from University of Bridgeport visited Haiti for the first time on a humanitarian trip. They had a tour of the country and experienced the culture and witnessed the severe poverty facing the Haitian people. Before the end of their journey, they visited Gleam of Hope school to get a glimpse into the lives of the Haitian children following the 2010 devastating earthquake. They spent valuable time with the children and staffs and donated school supplies, clothes, several goods and hygiene products.

Adriana is a freelance documentary photographer whose talented work has been featured in several well-know news and diverse other agencies.  She has captivated her audience with her raw and honest work and has traveled throughout Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Palestine to capture everyday life, conflict and strength with compassion for those she encounters beyond her lens. Prasenjit currently teaches  at University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT

GOH appreciates Adriana and Parasenjit's generosity and wishes to establish a long term relationship with them. We are still in our infancy, but as we continue to grown, we promise to do our best to make their next visit to GOH a more enjoyable memory.

Want to volunteer abroad?

The Foundation occasionally brings missionaries and individuals on trips to Haiti as a remembrance of life left behind  and for others to experience life in the third world.

Contact us to find out when a volunteering opportunity will become available at Gleam of Hope in Haiti. Once in Haiti, there is plenty of valuable work to be done. You may want to help prepare their lunch, teach English, singing, reading of books and Bible stories.

At best, it will be your opportunity to see life as they see it and a chance to empower others.
